Staff at Developmental %26 Behavioral PediatricsDesiree GuilianoDr Aronson-Ramos is pleased to welcome Desiree Guiliano to Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics of South Florida as Office Manager. Desiree’s grown son, Billy, has a rare genetic disorder, Prader Willi Syndrome. PWS is the most common known genetic cause of life-threatening obesity in children. He was diagnosed at a time when there were little to no resources in the community. Desiree was a pioneer in making sure her son’s needs were met, finding resources, and giving back to the community serving past Vice-President and current Treasurer of the Prader Willi Florida Association and her involvement with Special Olympics. Desiree’s professional expertise in office management is also a welcome addition to ensuring patient requests and needs are followed up in a timely manner. For more information on Prader Willi Syndrome click here www.pwfa.org State of Florida chapter and www.pwsausa.org for the National Organization. Susan CharnamWe are pleased to announce the association of Susan Charnam, M.S. with our practice. She has been a special educator since 1978 and has been serving the families of the tri-county area in many different capacities. She is perhaps best known for her work as an Infant Toddler Development Specialist for the past 13 years with the Early Steps/Early Intervention Program. Prior to that Susan worked at the Baudhuin Oral School in Davie and in a clinic setting as a trans-disciplinary team member in private practice. Susan’s areas of expertise include children from Infancy-Elementary School with Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental delays, genetic syndromes, early learning difficulties, and challenging behaviors. Sue has worked as a parent educator, therapist, teacher/trainer, and family/school liaison. She will be providing many of those same services here including teaching families techniques that promote engagement, interaction, limit setting and age appropriate play. She is also available to develop positive behavioral supports and learning opportunities, and to confer with preschool staff and caregivers to help children succeed in all areas of their lives. In addition to office visits Susan is available for observations at school and at home. |
